Days and Months

I apologize for the lack of post this week. We are all recovering from the sick bug, we brought back from FL.  Since everyone was feeling under the weather, we took it easy and focused on- Days Of The Week and Months.

We started off making schedules for the week. This way, it might make it easier to remember days, if you know what you’re doing on that day.

We then focused on “Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday”

Both the schedule and chart were hung up next to the calendar. I write the day on the board and Heaven matches them with her cards. When she has the match she places it in the “today” box on the calendar.

Once we established the day, we sing our song, we found on Pinterest

Days Of The Week Song You can also view the song here on Youtube, if you dont have a Pinterest account.

We have now moved on to the start of “Months”

The 1st thing we did was match the months. While matching I named Holidays and Birthdays in that month. Exp- February is Valentines Day, December is Christmas, May is Heavens Birthday..

Since we had an easy time in the classroom this week, we spent a lot of time using our workboxes, legos and finishing up our lessons with Reading Eggs. Click the link for a free 30 day trial. I love love love it and so do the kids.

Science Project and Tip From Pinterest

I came across what could be a great Science project, while visiting Pinterest, a couple weeks ago. Super easy to do and since I had the roots already there was no need to buy more.

Place the roots from green onions in a glass of water

After a week they were ready to be cut

Since these grow so fast (every week will need to be cut) you can place them in an empty water bottle in place in the freezer. When you cook with them, just shake out what is needed.

Both Ideas came from Pinterest.
